Start with an Outline
What does the outline of an essay consist of? It basically implies jotting down single or several sentences for each of the topics you’ll use in your essay. Schematically, the outline looks like this:
· In paragraph 1, write one sentence outlining your topic, and one sentence describing your thesis statement.
· In paragraph 2, give several sentences to describe the first point and prove it with facts (you must use in-text citation here).
· In paragraph 3, describe the second point and provide short evidence (you must use in-text citation here).
· In paragraph 4, describe the third point and provide short evidence (you must use in-text citation here).
· In paragraph 5, state your thesis statement again and sum up your essay by providing the included analysis. Also, express your final argument and prove the main point of your essay.
Once you have the outline, then you proceed to develop each paragraph with more sentences and details and using transitions from sentence to sentence and from paragraph to paragraph.
