The Statistics Project
As with all projects, late projects will be accepted, but there will be a 15 point penalty for each day that the project is late. So please be sure to get them in on time.
Before starting the project, you should take a look at any notes/comments on the Geometry Project, so that you do not make the same mistakes. Also be sure to pay attention to the materials in the Projects folder on Brightspace.
The General Project Directions lists the directions and requirements for all of the projects.
The Sample Project module shows examples of good and bad projects.
The Project Guide provides a video explaining everything that is expected of you on the projects.
Please be sure to pay close attention to all of these documents. Projects require that you submit both a calculations document and a 2-5 page typed write-up. You are also responsible to make sure that you submit proper file types that can be read in Brightspace (PDF is suggested). If you do not have both of those documents, or if your files do not work, I will email you to inform you that you need to resubmit. If you do not resubmit the full project before the deadline, you will receive late penalties (even if your original submission was before the deadline).
Notes for the Statistics Project:
Part 1 should only be in the write-up. You do not need to include Part 1 in the calculations document.
For Part 2, make sure you are using the table from the syllabus for converting numerical grades into letter grades.
Also for Part 2, round the final answers for mean to the nearest tenth and the standard deviation to the nearest hundredth, but do not round the intermediate work.
For Part 4, do not forget about the last page (with the actual production of the cookers). It is quite often forgotten if students are not paying attention.
