This week is about HOW you will get your program running. Who will help and how will you pay for it. You will also look up what current policies there are that impact your chosen goal.
These are all actions in the Mobilize Step!
Instructions
You will add three more slides to your presentation this week.
Slide 1: PARTNERS. WHO will help you get the intervention done?Do you need students to help organize? Health care professionals to volunteer? Web designers to donate time. locations to donate space? This is about the manpower to get it done! Be specific, dont say ” I will ask people or I will ask companies”. You need to name partners.
Slide 3 FUNDING: How will you pay for your program?Name at least one company that has something to do with your audience. Find a nonprofit that has synergy with your program.
HINT: Dont just say “I will get a grant from HP 2020” since that wont work! DONT COUNT ON GOVERNMENT SOURCES AS THAT MONEY IS HARD TO GET. Do not say Schools or Hospitals-they don’t give away money either, they need it themselves. Think of one commercial sources and a synergystic nonprofit.
Slide 2 POLICY: What policies impact your program? For example, smoking laws or helmet laws would be policies. FDA food guides are policies. School guides are policies . You must mention something as public health measures always have something. DO NOT say “there is nothing”. If you cant think of anything, just Google “government initiatives for..(your problem)” or “laws relating to (your problem)” or “policy relating to (your problem)” . I guarantee there is something. Not sure? Inbox me. Assignment Instructions
Continue to build your presentation by finding partners to help and funders to pay. Explore the levels of policies that impact your issue from laws (regulations), policies (guidelines) and initiatives (programs. Template for Policy & Funding Step 5 ActionsHere is my presentation with Step 5
