Introduction
A clear, focused, purposeful presentation of change ideas is essential for a change initiative to be successful. Business leaders must be able to present their strategy for change to begin the implementation process. Having a vision for change is not enough. An effective leader must be able to present that vision in a compelling way and bring people along. With this assessment, you have an opportunity to practice your presentation skills.
Overview
Gaining proficiency in presenting information is the hallmark of a doctoral scholar. In this assessment, you will create a PowerPoint presentation to clearly demonstrate how conducting your DBA capstone project could be a catalyst for change. Conducting the research, collecting and analyzing the data, and writing up the findings are critical steps to completing your capstone project, yet you must disseminate the information before any business practitioner can benefit from your project. Presenting the findings of your project at industry-related conferences is an excellent way to share the information with industry leaders. This assessment is designed to help you begin to learn the process of assembling information for a conference presentation. To be clear, you will not be making a live presentation of the information contained within your PowerPoint, but you will receive faculty feedback on the submitted PowerPoint deck to help you recognize areas for potential improvement.
Instructions
For this assessment, develop a 13-slide PowerPoint presentation using the Assessment 6 Template [PPTX] Download Assessment 6 Template [PPTX]. Follow the instructions on each slide of the template, insert your content, retain the slide titles, and delete the instructions. Your presentation should use bullet points and graphics, illustrations, or diagrams presented in a professional format using the required template. Be sure to include speaker notes of at least 100 words for each slide and include in the speaker notes APA citations for resources used. The last slide of your PowerPoint presentation should be a reference list. The Capella University Library: PowerPoint Presentations resource can provide assistance with using PowerPoint.
Additional Requirements
As you complete your assessment, be sure your PowerPoint presentation meets the following guidelines:
• Naming convention: For this assessment, you are required to follow the Standard Naming Convention requirements for any files you upload. You will find the requirements in the DBA Submissions Requirements page.
• Written communication: Written communication is free of errors that detract from the overall message.
• Scholarship: Use at least six scholarly or reputable practitioner sources to support your main points and analysis.
• APA formatting: All resources and citations should be formatted according to current APA style and formatting guidelines. The APA Module can help with this.
• Length: 13 PowerPoint slides (use the template).
• Font and font size: Use a font and size that provides an attractive, easy-to-read presentation.
